This piece captures a rainy, winter evening on Sheffield’s Ecclesall Road, or “Eccy Beach” as it’s also known, where ‘Nonnas’ restaurant is a glow with lights at the heart of the painting. The dark grey background is contrasted by the warm reds and yellows from the lights which reflect on the rainy pavement, emphasising the inviting feel of the restaurant. This piece aims to capture the comfort and familiarity of my hometown, creating a feeling of nostalgia which transports the viewer to a scene from everyday life.
